Four Unique Ways To Eat Plantain Chips

Plantain chips are wonderful right out of the bag, but there are so many other ways to enjoy them beyond dipping them in mayo or guac. Here are four unique ways to enjoy your chips. Give them a try!

1. Sprinkle Them On Salads

We love this idea by our friends at Barefoot Provisions, an online market of primal and paleo foods. Crush plantain chips, sprinkle on your favorite salad. Voila!

2. Pair Them With Ice Cream

Pair our sweet or cinnamon plantain strips with your favorite vanilla or coconut ice cream. Believe us; it’s good. We personally love them with coconut ice cream. Check out our easy dairy-free coconut ice cream recipe.

3. Cover Them In Chocolate

It may sound strange but our sea salt chips are even more delicious dipped in dark chocolate. All you need is one bar of organic dark chocolate and one 1.75 oz bag of sea salt plantain strips.

Step 1: Chop up the chocolate and melt in a double broiler.

Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3: Dip plantain chips in melted chocolate and place on parchment paper.

Step 4: Place the baking sheet in the fridge for 20 minutes.

4. Dip Them In Nut Butter

Maple almond butter and Artisan Tropic sweet plantain strips are a match made in heaven. For a salty-sweet combination, try dipping our sea salt plantains into your favorite sweet nut butter.

How do you eat your plantain strips?

  1. My daughter loves them as a walking taco. Just crunch up the bag a bit, open, add your taco meat (paleo recipes abound), and your favorite taco toppings! Delicious!
